Brenda Boyd, PhD, Owner
Faith-based Leadership Coach

Lead The Way Coaching Co.

Brenda Boyd, PhD, is an educator and executive leadership coach who is passionate about helping people grow from the inside out. She equips faith-driven professionals, healthcare leaders, and organizations to build healthy, sustainable leadership practices rooted in wholeness, clarity, and confidence.

Dr. Boyd holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Leadership, a Master’s in Organizational Management, and a Master’s in Health Professions Education. Additionally, she has completed continuing education in equine assisted services, family counseling, and online teaching and learning.

Through her career Brenda has pursued ongoing learning, self-awareness, and self-improvement to stay at the forefront of leadership and coaching best practices.

Brenda is currently completing the rigorous credentialing process for executive coaching through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) —the global gold standard in professional coaching (to be completed by Summer 2026). Pursuing this credential reflects her commitment to excellence, ethical practice, and continuous growth. Brenda has chosen the ICF-accredited Professional Coaching program at the Townsend Institute through Concordia University-Irvine for completing manditory education and mentoring hours. She is on track to earn her Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credentials from the ICF in the Summer of 2026.

Additionally, she is a certified facilitator in equine learning and experiences through TeachingHorse and EAL Academy. In addition to providing online sessions, she facilitates sessions with individuals and teams, with a horse as the leadership coach. Horses are excellent teachers for demonstrating the deep wisdom of herd dynamics, which can be translated to human leadership development. To support her expertise in equine learning, she is additionally getting certified with P.A.T.H. International (to be completed in 2026) and The Masterson Method as an Equine Specialist (to be completed in 2025).

Dr. Boyd’s professional background spans marketing communications and photography, higher education leadership, organizational culture development, writing and public speaking, and mentoring and coaching. This diverse experience gives her a rare ability to connect with emerging professionals, career changers, educators, clinicians, faith leaders, and executives—helping each build confidence, relational intelligence, and authentic leadership presence.

Brenda’s definition of coaching is this: Coaching is a relational and intentional partnership that creates a sacred space for the client to explore their current reality and develop a compelling vision of their desired future. In this space, clarity deepens, courage grows, and new options emerge.

As a coach, she doesn’t give advice or solve her client’s problems. As a coach, she helps people listen within themselves, define realistic goals, develop skills, and take steps toward lasting transformational change that they want to make.

Brenda leads by example, upholding the highest standards, inspiring trust and respect for students, clients, colleagues, and the professions she represents. Brenda’s coaching style blends humor, honesty, and deep listening with evidence-based coaching practices, equine wisdom, and faith-centered insight.

She is fully engaged in every interaction, acting ethically and responsibly in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity is at the core of her practice. Drawing from years in healthcare education and leadership development, she works with her clients to design personalized growth plans that strengthen personal, people, and performance success.

Outside of her education and coaching work, Brenda serves at her local church in leadership—teaching, preaching, mentoring, and leading worship and small groups. She sees leadership as a calling and an opportunity to serve others.

Whether in the classroom, office, or arena, Brenda helps people find purpose, develop presence, and lead with integrity. Her work inspires transformation that lasts—uniting spiritual depth with practical leadership for a world that needs both.

Brenda believes that coaching mirrors God’s leadership. Gleaning from the scriptures, in Proverbs 27:17 it says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” This passage illustrates how coaches guide others toward growth and a deeper purpose. It emphasizes that the role of a coach is not to lead from a distance, but to help others discover and cultivate the potential God has given them, drawing out their unique abilities in the same way Jesus drew out the abilities of his disciples.
